Founded in 1979, the Festival first opened on July 30, 1980 with three concerts, five artists and three venues. Just imagine founder Samuel Sanders’s delight if he could see the Festival’s longevity and growth over the years. That’s due in large part to the great support of our audience members, some of whom have been participants since the beginning. Thank you all!
For this especially important year, we have built an exceptional season with something for everyone and perhaps our most impressive ever roster: Performances by—among others—one trio, four quartets, four artistic directors (past and present!); the Festival debut of the Hermitage Trio with a program of exquisite Romantic music; the return of the Jupiter Quartet; the stunning Miró Quartet in a week’s residence with CCCMF friend Will Fedkenheuer; the return of the stellar Emerson Quartet; a program dedicated to the 100th birthday of Leonard Bernstein (with a special appearance by his daughter Jamie); a pair of concerts featuring musicians from Lincoln Center’s Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra; and the North American première of a composition written especially for us by Wellfleet composer Elena Ruehr. Please peruse the programs, get your calendars out and purchase your tickets. The Brochure will be in your mail in April but you can get a head start by purchasing your tickets online or by calling the office at 508-247-9400. We can’t wait to share this wonderful music with you.
