At this time a year ago Jon and Jon were finalizing the 41st season of your Cape Cod Chamber Music Festival – 12 concerts with new and returning artists all anticipating summer performances on the Cape. The Staff and Board were preparing venue and musician contracts, working on brochures and programs, setting up the box office and addressing the myriad details that go along with presenting our concerts: housing for artists, coordinating our volunteers, publicity, benefit planning and the like.
And then everything changed.
While we knew we could not safely gather we also knew we wanted to bring you some music, somehow. We’re delighted so many of you enjoyed the archival performances we presented during this online season over radio and on our website, as well as the video messages submitted by many of our most beloved guest artists.
We could not have done this without the support and enthusiasm of you, our audience, and the hard work and commitment of our Artistic Directors, the Board and Staff, along with recording producers and engineers.
Now, in still-uncertain circumstances, we are examining how to safely present both live music and streamed performances during summer 2021. Perhaps outdoors. Perhaps in familiar venues with limited audience attendance. We are committed to live music, in some form. We all need music in our lives, never more than in these challenging times.
Please help make 2021 unique and memorable by sending a contribution toward these efforts. As always, we’re so grateful for your ongoing support and look forward to making music together very soon.
