2015 Festival Debuts:
The season begins with the Festival debut of quickly-rising violin star Yevgeny Kutik, who recently garnered rave reviews in the New York Times and international press. He will share his formidable recital with pianist Spencer Myer, a familiar face to Cape audiences. Also thrilling will be the Festival debuts of the extremely popular Imani Winds (Provincetown) and the Boston Trio (Cotuit). Cotuit also hosts the debut of the renowned American Brass Quintet whose sound control and virtuosity have astounded audiences since its inception in 1960! We are also very privileged to hear the first CCCMF performance of the Danish String Quartet (Dennis), a young and dynamic ensemble taking the chamber music world by storm.
2015 Festival Returns:
After such a warm, full-house reception last season in Wellfleet, the venerable Emerson String Quartet arranged their August dates specifically around our concert week to enable their return! This year, Jon Nakamatsu will join them Schumann’s brilliant Piano Quintet. The Borromeo String Quartet also returns in a concert celebrating its 25th anniversary season, performing repertoire closely associated with its development and musical history. And for the first time, we have a quartet in residence for an entire week: Festival favorite, the Jupiter String Quartet, will present three concerts (Cotuit, Orleans and Wellfleet) both as a quartet and as individuals in partnership with pianists JN and our very own Brian Zeger! A fantastic way to experience the depth of an ensemble!
